actual celebration will be on the evening of june 26
June 14 – 24 | Monday – thursday
For many centuries, towns and villages have celebrated the changing of the seasons with their own unique traditional songs, play party games, dances, music, pageantry, rituals and a wide variety of family festivities. Many of those traditions have been lost with media and technology taking our time.
This summer, I hope to kick off the opening of my music studio with a Summer Solstice Celebration by reviving some of these musical traditions. Participants will learn age appropriate songs, singing games, traditional dances, and acted out plays which we will all bring together in a final family Summer Solstice Celebration (concert) on the evening of June 26th. Participants can look forward to decorating the Maypole, learning English street cries, making their own simple costumes, learning about funny summer characters, and so much more. Teens are especially needed for the acting parts and the more advanced music.
