SING ME A STORY

How is Sing Me A Story different from regular story hour? The stories presented in this series are all sung or chanted rhythmically. Some stories will be familiar, others not so much! Participants will learn to sing the stories as well as enjoy enrichment activities surrounding the stories. Materials will be age appropriate. 

All About Animals | All children must be accompanied with an Adult

This age group will learn singing stories about many kinds of animals.

Carnival of the Animals

In addition to singing stories and picture books about animals, this group will focus on the famous composer Camille Saint-Saens and his work entitled Carnival of the Animals. Children will learn about Saint-Saens life, the different instrument families and how they are used in his compositions. They will learn about each animal portrayed and decide for themselves if Saint-Saens captured the animal’s true characteristics through music.

Mozart’s Magic Flute

This class will focus on the composer Wolfgang Amedeus Mozart, his life, and specifically, his composition of The Magic Flute. They will discover how Mozart used humor, drama, and magic  in his music to convey good vs evil, overcoming challenges, staying faithful, and the innocence of youth.
