Mrs. M. has sung in many choirs herself (including The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square) and has directed children’s and adult choirs or more than 25 years. She is excited to start yet more choirs for children, youth, and adults that will perform quality music throughout the year!
Choir is the performance part of our extensive music program. Though not required, It is strongly recommended that choir participants also register for one of the Becoming a Musician classes as we will refer to and utilize information from those classes in the choir setting.
Choir participants will learn, refine, and perform folk songs and art music of the great composers. Choir members will learn in-tune singing, proper diction, sound production, breath control, and artful music interpretation. Strong emphasis is placed on students’ emotional connection with and knowledge of great choral works. You will not want your child to miss this experience!
Come enjoy singing in a choir, learning new music, improving your music skills, and making new friends!
Mrs. M has dreamed of creating a family choir for many years, with the focus and desire to bring families together through singing and looks forward to the wonderful opportunities with this choir!
Non-auditioned – no experience signing? No problem! Training will be provided along the way. Each rehearsal will include short lessons in sight reading and music theory as well as present more advanced opportunities to improve music skills for those who already know how to read music. There will be something for everyone!
